My dear Dad is turning 90 this year!!!! I was able to give him a thrill when the Springfield (Ohio) Museum of Art asked to borrow the portrait I painted of him when he was in the Navy in 1953. The Museum is hanging his portrait from the end of May through the beginning of September as part of its Blue Star Museum program which allows active duty military free admission to museums participating in the program. Here's a picture of us (Dad, Mom and me) delivering the painting to the Museum. Say hello to Electronic Technician Petty Officer First Class Alois W. Anders, Jr.! He served on the USS Piedmont (AD-17). So proud of him! Thank you Dad (and all military and first responders) for your service!
